How do Radiofrequency Skin Tightening and Fractional Skin Resurfacing Treatments Work?

What to expect from Endymed treatment

The skin is the largest organ of the body and with a total area of about 20 square feet, it is something of a responsibility for any person to take good care of. But even with the best of care, over time, problems will present themselves.

  • Deep lines and wrinkles
  • Sun damage and pigmentation on the face
  • Lax skin in the cheeks
  • Sagging jowls and neck area
  • Fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and mouth
  • Sun damage on the décolletage, the backs of the hands and neck
  • Uneven skin tone and texture
  • Dull and tired, lack lustre looking skin
  • Loss of volume particularly in the mid face

However, the days of having to put up with many of these problems are happily far behind us, thanks to therapies such as Radio Frequency Skin Tightening and Fractional Skin Resurfacing Treatments, administered by qualified practitioners, from our Suffolk based clinic, close to Essex. These treatments deliver natural, long-lasting results in skin rejuvenation without the need for surgery.

What happens to your skin during your Radiofrequency Skin Tightening treatment

Radio Frequency is a relaxing treatment that involves the application of an ultrasound gel and a warm wand piece which passes over the skin in sweeping circular motions. The wand gently heats the lower levels of the skin to approximately 40°c; this tricks the brain into thinking there has been a potential injury and stimulates a healing response. This, in turn, causes increased collagen production and tightening of elastin fibres. The tightening of elastin fibres is instant, meaning the skin appears tighter and lifted from the first treatment. The gentle heat also promotes fat cell reduction. However, it’s not just instant results that you should expect. As you progress through the course of your treatments your skin continues to improve, long after the last treatment has finished.

What happens to your skin during your Fractional Skin Resurfacing treatment

This revolutionary treatment works with tiny pins that safely deliver heat through the skin’s surface. This creates tiny micro-dermal wounds, which the body then works to heal naturally. This process is what repairs signs of skin damage seen on the surface of the skin. And because the wounds are so small, the treatment is much more comfortable than lasers or chemical peels. The result is smoother, healthier skin with minimal downtime. Patients will begin to see results after the first treatment and results will continue to improve for up to 6 months after the last session as the treatment continues to work, rebuilding collagen and giving your skin a new lease of life.
